The ninth annual Statesville Pride essay contest is open to any student currently attending Mitchell Community College.
The essay topic is "Why I Love Statesville."
Essays must be original works addressing this theme.
Essays must be no more than 500 words in length. Essays will be graded on their originality and treatment of the topic. All submitted essays become the property of Statesville Pride Corporation.
The winning essay writer, as selected by the Statesville Pride Board of Directors, will be awarded a $2,000 scholarship.
